"I would witness academic decline over the next 21 years: a decline I was powerless to arrest and see no immediate prospect of being reversed."

On 9/20/21, Wisse furthers her critique in her WSJ piece, Afghanistan Was Lost in the Halls at Harvard, arguing that the 40-year ROTC ban "sent a deeper message: that American civilization isn't worth defending."
