To Help Black Students, Focus on Early Childhood, not College Admissions

As FAIR Advisor McWhorter argued in a recent piece, Robert Cherry writes that “Rothstein’s views on affirmative action demonstrate just how mistaken the liberal position is and what we can gain by shifting away from it.” Among many factors, Cherry points to education and the early years as key to closing the racial gap in selective college admissions. “Only by increasing family intervention programs that will improve the performance of young black children can we substantially close the race gap at the most selective colleges without sacrificing merit.”
